Kicking off Free Monthly Community Runs

I am an ultra runner & former professional Ironman Triathlete. I am also the owner of Detroit Body Garage Gym & Be Bold Crew in West Village Detroit. We use movement & community to be BOLD vehicles of change.
I have seen first hand the impact of hunger that exists here in our city. Each week I see my neighborhood walk past Detroit Body Garage to the family center where they pick up their weekly donated food boxes. Seniors, families with young kids, hunger is an issue for all ages. One day at one of our free youth run programs, a young boy came running up to share just how excited he was to have celery & chocolate milk for a snack provided by the center. This same beautiful soul wasn't able to afford the $5 yearly youth membership.
Poverty, hunger, its REAL and we can make a difference starting now, to benefit the Feed Foundation. What if you committed to donating your weekly coffee fund to feed our community? Could you sacrifice your happy hour this week, knowing you are providing meals to those I see daily walking by our gym? RUN 10 FEED 10 started in 2012 with the hope of raising money and awareness for the dire hunger problem in America. The concept was a simple one. RUN a 5k or 10K and FEED 10 hungry people in your hometown. Since they started, they have raised enough money to provide 4.5 million meals to Americans in need. Now, it’s the fifth anniversary! Help us celebrate in a big way by making this the biggest year yet! The road to 5 million meals starts with you.
