BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF THE OSA
The Osa Peninsula is home to many birds on the endangered species list, and the greatest threat to the majority of these critters involves loss of habitat. One such bird is the Yellow-Billed Cotinga, a beautiful and unique bird whose numbers in 2011 were estimated to be between 250 – 799.
Through our conservation efforts we have been aiming to better protect, conserve, and maintain healthy habitats for the Yellow-Billed Cotinga. Contributions to this program will allow us to continue our monitoring projects, and will help support ongoing research and critical habitat restoration programs on our Yellow-Billed Cotinga reserve on the Osa Peninsula.
