About the "What's Your Impact?" Competition
Many have hopes and visions of a further developed Africa. Often times we are too overwhelmed to know where to start, or we may have an idea but lack the necessary support to implement it. The What’s Your Impact? Competition removes these barriers by providing avenues for individuals who want to help to interact with organizations seeking to expand. The organizations and benefiting communities can be based anywhere in Africa or it's diaspora (Brazil, United States, Haiti, etc.)
The competition will be held online on one-africa.com from January 25th 2016 - April 10th 2016.
The competition starts with organizations introducing their proposals to the public on One-Africa.com and initiating their campaign to enlist support. The public is then given opportunities to make their impact by judging each project, providing feedback, volunteering for assignments, making financial contributions, assisting teams with publicizing, etc. Public consensus determines the winning team that will receive an additional $5,000 to execute their project proposals. Second and third place winners will be awarded $3,000 and $2,000 respectively for their project implementation.
Your contribution to the What’s Your Impact? Competition will:
-Support efforts of a prosperous Africa achieved through collaboration, strategy, transparency and sincerity.
-Propel the acquisition of product and services related to food/agriculture, health, education, finances, energy, technology, roads/infrastructure, environment and arts to those of African descent.
-Affect communities around the world, giving opportunities to generations who will in turn impact the rest of humankind.
70% of donated funds will support the programs of the winning teams. 30% will go towards overhead to organize, advertise and promote this competition.
