BENEFITING: Samaritans Purse
We're a group of graduate students at Wheaton College working together to support Samaritan's Purse in its work to stop ebola in Africa!
Samaritan's Purse is an international aide organization that has been particularly active in fighting the ebola epidemic in West Africa. According to their website, at this time they are now "aggressively responding (to the ebola outbreak) in Liberia...by establishing and maintaining community care centers in areas hit hard by the disease." These health centers provide health care and support for patients currently suffering from ebola.
Samaritan's Purse is not just working to treat people suffering from ebola, either. They're also involved in important prevention work to keep the outbrea from getting worse. Instructors from Samaritan's Purse train local people about how to care for ebola patients, how to protect themselves from infection, and how to keep ebola from spreading to areas it hasn't already reached.
All this takes a lot of hard work, a lot of supplies, and a lot of money. These hospitals and medical teams are swamped by the scale of the epidemic, and they need all the help they can get to keep fighting.
Donations of up to $5000 will be matched. We can give ten thousand dollars to keep these hospitals running, to open new ones, and to provide training and supplies to health care professionals working to stop Liberia. But we need EVERYBODY to do their fair share!
If every single person at Wheaton Grad School gave ten dollars, we'd already have reached the five thousand dollar goal. If we all ask one friend to also give ten dollars, we'll double that. If those friends ask a friend for ten dollars? The sky's the limit.
We can stop ebola. But we need you to do your part.

Our goal is to channel Western anxiety about ebola towards a more productive end than fear and paranoia. Don't just worry about ebola -- fight it! Donations of any amount are appreciated! Post this fundraiser on your friend's Facebook walls, your church's Facebook walls, on Twitter -- anywhere you can!
Together, we can stop ebola. Help Africa out!
