.........................CHAIN REACTION............................Hello! my name is Leanna Born and Raised in Morristown,Tn and I'm 32yrs Old and this is my story. On Nov the 1st 1998 I was in a Auto accident in Knoxville Tn that lefted me paralyzed. My injury is a C5/c6 I do have partial movement in my arms mostly left side.I now use a power-chair for my mobility.I remained in the hospital for a total of 6 months.I was at the University of Tn hospital for 3months while being on a Ventilator.Ut hospital tried to wean me off but it was difficult so they transferred me to Fort Sanders Patrica Neal and it was successfully done! There I remained for 3 months for Rehabilitation.I also finished my high school education there. April 15th 1999 they released me to go home and I was very afraid. It was very scary and challenging for me and my mother at that point but God had given us both strength to keep moving forward. I Thank god for his Strength. In 2000 I graduated and received my Diploma. Soon afterwards my friends strayed away because I couldn't go where they where going and do the things they was involved in. I was so hurt and unhappy. Later I was introduced to a Computer so I thought great... I can be somewhat social again. I felt very alone because I Felt I had no freedom to the outside world.-I needed to get out and continue on with my life but I had no transportation to do so. Here is where things began to change. One evening my cousin invited me to a dinner for his friend. Public transportation had took me. After dinner a young lady name Katie and her dad came up to me Katie was also in a chair too.She said that she had been wanting to meet me for a long time. Katie had told me that she heard and read about me in the newspaper and she said she wanted to do something nice for me. She handed me an envelope and it was keys inside the keys to her old Van. She said here is your freedom and more Interdependency She had purchased a new van for herself.-I thought what a Wonderful Blessing.- I am writing this because I want to let people see that being in a wheelchair doesn't stop you from doing what you want to do as long as you have transportation. Today I am asking you to please help me with this Chain Reaction. I would truly appreciate any funders out there that can help me reach the goal of purchasing a new van because I do not have the miens to do so on my on. I would also do what Katie did for me. Give that person in need of a used wheelchair van.-I thank everybody that took time to read this and thanks to all my supporters for helping me Give forward so I Can give back with this Chain Reaction God Bless You All ! When you focus on being a blessing,God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance.
