Whelen Engineering is proud to support the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign!
Each year, the Red Cross responds to nearly 66,000 disasters, the vast majority of which are home fires. In Connecticut and Rhode Island, the Red Cross responds to an average of two home fires each day. That is why Whelen Engineering has invested in the American Red Cross Home Fire Campaign.
· 7 people die every day from a home fire
· 36 people suffer injuries as a result of home fires every day
· Over $7 billion in property damage occurs every year
In March 2017, the Red Cross is undertaking a multi-city campaign to install 1,200 alarms. For five days, beginning on March 6, 2017, the Red Cross will visit at-risk neighborhoods in Connecticut and Rhode Island and canvass homes to install smoke alarms and educate families on fire prevention and safety.
Whelen Engineering is proud to stand with the American Red Cross to help reduce fire-related deaths and injuries in the US by 25% by 2020 through the Home Fire Campaign. Nationwide more than 111 lives have been saved to date thanks to alarms installed by the American Red Cross.
