BENEFITING: AMERICANA COMMUNITY CENTER INC
"Where Gardening Meets the World" is an effort to support the gardening program of the Americana Community Center. Americana's community garden may only be 1/5th of an acre in size but it serves members of its community who come from over 100 different countries all over the world. Not only does it provide an opportunity for quality human beings of all ages from Americana's community to get their hands in the soil, but those participants from the Survivors of Torture Recovery Center who share elbow room on Americana's campus.
Americana's Community Garden has equipment needs that the center currently cannot afford to budget for. That's why we need the help of wonderful people like you to foot a small portion of the bill. I'm not asking for one or two people to fund the entire project. My belief is that if enough people see this page and donate what they can, then the goal of the project can be met easily with all of your help.
Here is a list of items that Americana's Community Garden is currently in need of that these funds will be utilized for:
Riding Mower ($2,000)
2 pitchforks ($50)
1 wheel for wheelbarrow ($40)
10 bags of potting soil ($80)
Organic Mulch from Earth-First @ $3.50 a bag ($200)
2 boxes of heavy-duty trash bags ($28)
6 bags of drainage rock ($24)
Seeds for Spring planting! ($100)
(broccoli, carrots, green beans, peas, peppers, kale, onions, tomatoes, blueberries, forget-me-nots, daisies, black-eyed susans, etc....)
The goal amount I'd like to raise is $4,000, which will cover this list and leave some leftover for future needs. All of the funds you donate at will be deposited directly into Americana Community Center's bank account and will be used exclusively for the gardening program. All I ask is for what you can give, nothing more or less than that. If you're not able to help out monetarily, consider telling a friend about it and/or sharing the link to the fundraiser with the caring people you know who might be willing to help. Thank you for taking the time to read through this description and I hope you're living deliberately.
