THE STORY:

I have been in the medical laboratory for 16 years.  I love my job and take pride in my work.  Long hours - 60 a week.  Very dedicated and involved in the company.  Gold Star Receipent for outstanding Performance. I'm the Soul support for my family.  My husband is disabled Firefighter/Paramedic.   I have fibromyalgia but rain or shine, he'll or high water I went to work.  I'm 51.  I worked circles around the younger employees and taught them an enormous range of skills not taught in school but by a seasoned Tech.  

 

On July 14, 2016 I was laid off from my job along with 45 others.   Problem here is I recommended a gal for hire a year ago.  Pushed hard to get her on with the company.   She was eventually hired.  

 

She is Black, single mom of two girls with two different guys.  I bought two full SUVs of groceries and products during her unemployment time.     She started working in my department and immediately she started being late, calling in sick, not showing up, showing up then leaving because she was sick,  and the list goes on.    

She has been disruptive on a daily basis when she is there.  Burping, farting, yelling "I'm going to Pee", singing, burping, banging things etc.   I spoke to her as a friend to shape up.  She blew up on my and said if they threaten her job she will sue.   She cries PTSD because she fought in the war in IRAQ IN COMBATas a medic and got out in 2009 after three years of fighting between n a blaming gun battle.     I learned females were not permitted or sent into combat until  2012.  She lies about everything.   Makes statements such as "You too can get high off a Valium" while at work.  Dressing with mid section and butt crack hanging out.    She falls asleep at work, disappeared for hours at a time, didn't clock out for lunch, shows up late and does whatever she wants. Dating websites seem to be priority on the clock.    

I reported such behavior to my Supervisor and HR and NOTHING WAS DONE.    Two weeks ago the entire department held a meeting with our supervisor about this toxic coworker.   Again NOTHING WAS DONE!

If if the company feels my position elimination will save money they are 100% wrong.   I started immediately looking for employment yesterday but my career as a Histotechnologist is unique and relocation may be my only hope to start working again.
