Wii U Bundles for Children's Hospitals
Organized by: Kristy Rotuna
My husband and two sons (8 and 2) had been busy making perler bead characters (see photos for examples). After making a few, Alex came up with an idea to turn them into a business and give the money to kids who are sick. We talked about what it might be like to be in a hospital for a long time and what he thought would make it a little better for kids who are. Without missing a beat and in true 8-year-old boy fashion, he answered, "they need a Wii "U"! I knew instantly that this was a fantastic idea and that we absolutely had to do something with it and not just stop at the brainstorming phase! As fate would have it, I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia(which is where I am right now as a matter of fact). My stay will be short. But even so it has been a constant reminder of the kids we were brainstorming about. So instead of watching "I Love Lucy" and "The Golden Girls" over and over again I figured this was a great time to get this started! I began researching crowd funding and ended up here. We originally wanted to sell the bead creations and then send them to children in hospitals. That doesn't really fit in with this site so I am going to start something separate for that on Facebook. For that we will be asking for man hours and it will consist of a simple way to cheer these kids up. I will post more about that later. But on here, we are simply asking for donations of any amount to help us get some of these systems out to kids who could be using them. Especially during the summer when so many other children are out running and playing! Any amount is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance!
