BENEFITING: DREAMCATCHER WILD HORSE AND BURRO SANCTUARY
Look back at our struggle for freedom,
Trace our present day's strength to it's source;
And you'll find that man's pathway to glory
Is strewn with the bones of the horse.
Wild horses have long been a symbol of freedom and the pioneering spirit of the American West. Unfortunately, legislation protecting wild horses has drastically weakened, despite the fact that the population of wild horses has already been drastically reduced.
In the 1800s there were several million wild horses. That number has now dwindled to fewer than 30,000. There are now more wild horses in government holding pens than there are in the wild. Still, the round-ups continue.
This project is to raise funds to help Dreamcatcher Wild Horse & Burro Sanctuary of California. This sanctuary is 2000 acres devoted to the care of previously rounded up and/or adopted wild horses, returning these beautiful creatures to a life similar to what they experienced in the wild.
