Wildlife Volunteer in Africa
Organized by: Shawna Mykes
My name is Shawna and I am currently a senior at Suffolk University. I am majoring in biology with a concentration of marine biology. Since I was a child I have loved animals and this passion of mine has led the pathway to my goals. I want to help animals and the environment. My goal is to get my masters in conservation biology in the next few years. I am raising money so I can travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife rehabilitation center for at least a month if not longer. The purpose of this trip is to help animals in Africa that are orphaned, injured, sick, etc. and hopefully rehabilitate them so that they can be released back into the wild. It is also educate others on the importance of these animals and what we can do to help their survival. The money raised will go towards the cost of the volunteering since I will need to pay for accommodations, and food. It will also go to the cost of my visa, air travel, and insurance. Their is no cut off date for the funds, as I will not be going for a few more months. I am hoping that the money that I will raise will last me during my volunteering. Unfortunately even though my family supports me emotionally they are unable to support me financially so I need every little bit of help that I can get. For anyone who donates I thank you for your help and support. This is a dream of mine and something like this will be memorable and hopefully help me with my career in the future.
