Friends of Australian Wildlife Conservancy

Friends of Australian Wildlife Conservancy is a US-based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Australia’s great wilderness areas and its threatened wildlife. Australia is home to more biodiversity than any other developed nation on Earth with around 80% of these animals and plants only found in Australia. However, Australia has the worst mammal extinction rate in the world with more than 1,000 species teetering on the brink of extinction. Feral animals, wildfires and weeds are the key factors driving this extinction crisis. But thankfully there is hope. The major partner of Friends of Australian Wildlife Conservancy is the non-profit Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) who own 23 properties in Australia covering over 3 million hectares, or 7.4 million acres in iconic places such as the central Australian Outback, the Kimberley and Cape York. AWC's strategy is practical and straightforward - buy land and then manage it effectively for wildlife conservation. AWC now protects over 83% of Australia's bird species and 67% of all mammal species including many of Australia's most endangered species including Yellow-footed Rock-wallabies, Palm Cockatoos and Gouldian Finches. Please help support our team of wildlife enthusiasts and their commitment to help protect Australia's endangered wildlife by donating today!
