In 2011, my 33 year old daughter, Genny (Genevieve) was diagnosed with two life-threatening blood cancers: Myleofibrosis and MDS. She was given less than a year to live. Genny's only hope was to receive a stem cell transplant (also known as a bone marrow transplant), but Genny had no match in her family. Fortunately, a stranger half way across the world was Genny's match, a young man from Germany. Genny's donor saved not only her life, he saved her entire family. Six years ago, while Genny was undergoing treatment, I formed Genny's Hope Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit. Our mission is to help all who need a stem cell/bone marrow transplant find their match. We also do community outreach, and as such, I am honored to be a volunteer with LLS in the Patient and Family Outreach program. While we are an all-volunteer organization (none of our staff or board members are paid), we do still need to raise money to help us accomplish our goal. To date, we have registered over 6000 new donors and contributed over $68,000 to help offset the costs of cheek swabs and lab processing. You can help us make a difference. You can help us save a life. Every dollar counts.
