THE STORY:

EVENT DATE: SEP 11, 2016

DEADLINE TO GIVE: SEP 09, 2016

On September 11th, 2016 come out to Frontier Park for a fun filled day with every member of the family! The day will start off with a 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile fun walk for everyone. Followed by a post-race expo, pet contest, games and more. Visit with adoptable animals and get your pet microchipped for only $25. Each animal that comes to us cost an average of $200 while in our care. The love they give us in the short time that they are with us makes it all the more rewarding when we can find that perfect forever family. Here are the stories of just a few of our furry friends that are still looking for their forever families. All pledges raised will benefit animals such as the ones below. Duckie - This sweet little boy was dumped at Five Acres in a shoe box. He was born without his front paws or his tail but hasn't stopped him. He loves to play and and because he hasn't grown up with siblings he is learning to make friends and be polite. Duckie has captured the hearts of everyone he has met here at the shelter. He has no idea that he is different. We can learn so much from his energy. Midnight - Midnight came to us in a transfer from the Lincoln County Animal Shelter as a FIV positive cat. This means that he has a compromised immune system but is otherwise happy and healthy. He now lives in one of administration offices and is a favorite among staff and visitors alike and he loves all the attention that he receives. He just needs to find a home that only wants one pet him. Patch - One of our newest members of the kitty neighborhood, Patch was found with a group of feral cats. He was treated for a leg abscess, which has now fully healed. Patch is a curious boy always exploring and playing in his new home here at the shelter, but more than anything Patch just loves to snuggle up on your lap and be pet. Big Shug - Though he may not be a puppy anymore Big Sug is still a playful, loveable, cuddle buddy. He came to us from the Ozarks and was a stray before he arrived at Five Acres. He has seperation anxiety, but if there is someone around, Big Sug is the perfect snuggle buddy. He needs a family that has a lot of time to spend with him, love him and take him on adventures.
