Dear Family and Friends, Ha…
Dear Family and Friends,

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am especially thankful to YOU for your donation to support the water pipe in Kenya! Together, we did it! We surpassed the goal of $4,000. Construction will begin in a few days! How exciting and gratifying is that????

With your help, we raised the funds to build water pipe #1 and assisted in the funding of water pipe #2! We just learned about the need for water pipe #2 very recently. The good news is that we raised more than $6,000 - enough funds to complete both water pipes.

Also, Jonathan Simel, the founder and executive director of the Maasai Youth Outreach Organization (MAYOO) just visited the Boston area. Tristan, Stephen, Janet and I hosted Jonathan for the past month and coordinated fundraisers, speaking opportunities at schools, churches and cafes, and interviews with newspapers and cable TV. Our mission was to generate awareness of MAYOO, the need for two water pipes, and the important goal of sponsoring young girls in danger of early marriage and female genital mutilation. As a group, we raised funds to sponsor more than 20 girls, in addition to completing funding for the two water pipes!

Walker and I loved hosting Jonathan at our home. He is a wonderful young man, just 24 years old, doing great things for his village and girls who face an uncertain future without his intervention.

Jonathan will be arriving back in Kenya today. He will update us with photos on the construction of the water pipes. I will forward those photos to you!

Thank you again for your generosity. I hope you find this whole experience as rewarding as I do. A small group of people really CAN make a difference in the world! We are just beginning a lifestyle improvement for the beautiful people (and animals) in the village of Ingarooj, Kenya!

With much love and gratitude,
