Windham Bomber Mascot
Organized by: Windham Bombers Cheerleading
The Windham High School Cheerleading Squad has decided that is important for our parents, students, teachers, and alumni to have a mascot to be proud of and inspired by! Therefore, we are excited to announce that we will soon be adopting a mascot of our own!
The Windham School District has had a long standing tradition of school spirit, loyalty and pride. The introduction of the Bomber mascot will foster, promote and build unity among the student population by focusing on the constructive behavioral features and characteristics that the mascot displays. The mascot also will boost the spirit and morale of the school and sets them towards achieving the goals and objectives set by the school.
The design concept of the Bomber mascot would be a Bomber Fighting Pilot. The purpose of the Bomber mascot would be to support athletic functions, community functions, to promote school spirit, good sportsmanship, and good citizenship. Many people are under the impression that mascots can only be used for sports; however, a mascot will be an important part of academic institutions as well. The Bomber mascot give students, parents, teachers, and administration a sense of pride, loyalty, unity, and belonging; and these are feelings that will stick with us long after we have become a Windham Alumni.
Mascots create unity between diverse groups within our school. Instead of being in divided groups such as: freshmen, seniors, yearbook club, band members, athletes, etc… there is a common label of BOMBER! The pride that comes from this unity can motivate and inspire students to do their best, in their academics, their extra-curricular activities, as well as an incentive to be more involved as Bombers and community members.
To do this, we need your help. Show your Bomber spirit and make a donation to the Windham Bomber Mascot Fund. To quote the late Coach Jeff Stanley, “Every day is a great day to be a Bomber!” Let us show the world we are Proud to be Bombers!
