The trustees of the Windmiller Ponds Homeowner’s Association would like to propose establishing and maintaining a new community park within our subdivision that would serve the Pickerington, Ohio community and its’ visitors. We believe the city continues to need additional park land and more athletic fields. Therefore, a park would be a seamless fit for the land serving the community as a walking path, outdoor recreation and open space area for public use.
We, respectfully, request the Mayor and Pickerington City Council to consider changing the zoning and/or re-designate the two parcels at 1111 and 1112 Gray Drive from the current C-3 commercial zoning to an R-4 park land zoning district. It is rare in our city to see C-3 Zoning next to R-4 Zoning. Typically, the city has placed a transitional zoning district between these two zoning districts that differ so much in uses.
We know this would be an excellent investment for the City of Pickerington because it would promote green space, local businesses, attractive residential communities, overall quality of life to its residents and a legacy that will serve many generations to come in this intensely developed area.
