Windows for Emma and Mason
Organized by: Tom LaPorta
Greetings. The windows in my children's room are in desperate need of replacement. Unfortunately, last year my wife and I burned through our savings when we unexpectedly had to make 2 trips back-to-back to Myrtle Beach when her mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and then, 3 weeks later, passed. To compound the issue, the part-time job I was working at the time then laid me off due to the time away I had to take in Myrtle Beach. A month after that, we found out my wife was pregnant with our second child. Mason was born June 26th this year and soon will be sharing the room with his sister. We are a paycheck-to-paycheck family like many, and while I have been looking for more part-time work, so far I have been unsuccessful.
Last year we were able to put plastic on the windows and fill, before doing so, fill the area in front of the glass with towels to try to absorb some of the cold. Unfortunately, as this last year went on they have just gotten worse. The weather here in the Northeast has started to turn very cold at night and that cold just seeps into my children's room through the windows, even with sealing them up. We are in desperate need to replace the windows and because we live in a condo complex, I cannot replace them myself - the work must be done by a contractor. Please help if you can, we appreciate anything anyone can give.
