Dear Friends and Family,
I have worked with the Conservancy for the past year, and it has been such a wonderful experience learning about the importance of one of Southern California’s largest remaining wetlands. The Conservancy is such a vital piece in coastal preservation and works to restore the Bolsa Chica Wetlands through science-based education and restoration programs. An important initiative we'd like to expand is the Windows to Our Wetlands Program. This traveling STEM-based education program reaches students in underserved communities and teaches them about wetlands, watersheds and conservation - something that I wish I had when I was growing up. Sometimes it's difficult to find the time and resources to get to the wetlands, so we're bringing the wetlands to them! The Windows to Our Wetlands program is a part of our Community Action Restoration and Education (CARE) program which engages youth and adults to increase their knowledge and actively participate in the care of our coast and wetlands.
If the work we do here at Bolsa Chica Conservancy resonates with you, please consider taking a minute to donate $25, $50, or $100 on my fundraising page: https://www.crowdrise.com/windowstoourwetlands/fundraiser/ericpaquette1
Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of the year! With this, 1,000 students in underserved communities will be able to experience what I do every day here at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. That means $100 will provide five students the opportunity to participate in the Windows to Our Wetlands. My personal goal is to raise $250 to benefit 12 students! I hope you'll support me in meeting this goal.
