Dear Family and Friends,
I recently joined the staff of the Bolsa Chica Conservancy and I've learned a whole lot about environmental conservation! The Conservancy is such a vital piece in coastal preservation and works to restore the Bolsa Chica Wetlands through science-based education and restoration programs. An important initiative we'd like to expand is the Windows to Our Wetlands Program. This traveling STEM-based education program reaches students in underserved communities and teaches them about wetlands, watersheds and conservation - something that I wish I had when I was growing up. Sometimes it's difficult to find the time and resources to get to the wetlands, so we're bringing the wetlands to them! The Windows to Our Wetlands program is a part of our Community Action Restoration and Education (CARE) program which engages youth and adults to increase their knowledge and actively participate in the care of our coast and wetlands.
If the work we do here at Bolsa Chica Conservancy resonates with you, please consider taking a minute to donate $25, $50, or $100 on my fundraising page: http://www.crowdrise.com/windowstoourwetlands/fundraiser/learysalupen
Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of the year! With this, 1,000 students in underserved communities will be able to experience what I do every day here at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. That means, just $100 will provide five students the opportunity to participate in the Windows to Our Wetlands. If you want to know more about the Conservancy, you can check our website at www.bolsachica.org.
Thank you so much!
