Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, I have been involved with the Bolsa Chica Conservancy since it's founding in 1990. I have served as Docent, Administrative Assistant, Vounteer Science Program Coordinator, Executive Director and Member of the Board or Directors. The Conservancy is a vital piece in coastal preservation and works to restore the Bolsa Chica Wetlands through science-based education and restoration programs. An important initiative we'd like to expand is the Windows to Our Wetlands Program. This traveling STEM-based education program reaches students in underserved communities and teaches them about wetlands, watersheds and conservation - something that I wish I had when I was growing up.
Sometimes schools find it difficult to allow the time and resources to get to the wetlands, so we're bringing the wetlands to them! The Windows to Our Wetlands program is a part of our Community Action Restoration and Education (CARE) program which engages youth and adults to increase their knowledge and actively participate in the care of our coast and wetlands.
If the work we do here at the Bolsa Chica Conservancy resonates with you, please consider taking a minute to donate $25, $50, or $100 on my fundraising page: https://www.crowdrise.com/windowstoourwetlands/fundraiser/graceadams
Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the end of the year! With this, 1,000 students in underserved communities will be able to experience what I do every day here at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. That means if you donated $100, five students will get the chance to participate in the Windows to Our Wetlands. My personal goal is to raise $1,000 to benefit 50 students! I hope you'll support me in meeting this goal!
