I want to take a moment to express my appreciation for those who have generously supported my campaign to Give My Mom Wings! I am grateful that See More

My mom is courageous, brave, and a fantstic woman. She has survived the deaths of two husbands. In 2003 she lost her youngest son. A year later she lost her only daughter. She has survived cancer, lives with congestive heart failure (and a small host of other ailments), and is looking forward to her 87th birthday this year. There is nothing I wouldn't do for my mom. About 14 years ago I was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis. It was a crushing blow to lose my vitality and so much more at a time in my life when I should have been enjoying the best time of my life. My disorder is permanent and there is no cure. Since I began to have to depend on disability to live, in search of a self-sustaining livelihood I have become a published author, a fine art photographer, a computer graphic artist, and a music producer. I can walk and I can drive, but my physical strength and endurance are very limited. I take mom to appointments and to run errands. She is getting weaker. She loved our drive to the coast last week, and it did wonders for her morale to get out of her apartment, but she is getting weaker and it is harder and harder for her to try and climb into my vehicle. She has a superb electric scooter, but I have no way to accommodate it in my car (it's too small). At the top of mom's bucket list is to be able to get out more, feel the breeze on her face, and continue to push in the direction of independence. I have devoted the last 11 years of my life to helping her. I know there is not anything I can do about her health, but I can do a lot for her morale, and I work at that always. I want to buy a vehicle that will allow mom to take her scooter with us so that she can get out more and be more active. At this point it is the best that I can do for her. Such adaptive vehicles (that are still in good condition and are still completely reliable) tend to be unaffordable for me, but I still want to be able to do for mom all that I can do. Your help will give my mom wings. I am hoping to raise enough money for a mid-range vehicle that I can depend on to get mom from here to there without any issues. (Mechanical problems away from home could be critical for her.) I have spent hours looking for a suitable vehicle and comparing. Now I know what I can do once I raise the needed funding. There is a lot of need in this world. I can't do everything for everyone, but I want to do all I can for my mom while I can. Thanks very much for your support.
