BENEFITING: Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee
EVENT DATE: Jul 01, 2014
My Birthday-Wish Tradition! For the 6th year in a row, I ask you to help feed Winkie the elephant for a week as a way of celebrating with me!
Winkie was born in Burma in 1966. As a young calf she migrated with her family across the wilds of Southeast Asia. At approximately one year of age, she was captured and sold into the exotic animal trade, which brought her to the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, Wisconsin. She remained in captivity, in an antiquated elephant exhibit, until September 12, 2000, when she arrived at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
Feeding an elephant costs the sanctuary about $40/day, so the goal is $280. Please consider donating $10 (or more) to show support for this precious elephant and wonderful organization. Thank you!
