My name is Paulina Castro and I am a coxswain on the Men's Winter Park Crew team. I first fell in love with this sport while I was still in middle school. I was a coxswain on the Winter Park Middle School Rowing Program for 2 years and I couldn't imagine not doing it in high school. This is my 2nd year on the High School team. Last year, my boat and I experienced what it was like to win a Gold medal at the Florida State Championship Regatta. We worked so hard and it all paid off at the end. I was so proud of the guys on my boat and felt lucky to be part of such an amazing team and have the great coaches we have. As some of you know, this is an expensive sport, so we are looking for your support to raise funds to pay for our travel, equipment and much more. Any support you are able to offer is greatly appreciated! Thank you and I hope you can make it to one of our regattas this school year! Winter Park Crew: Winter Park Crew has long been a transformative program for student athletes. While focusing on our heritage of sportsmanship, our rowers develop mental and physical resolve, a collaborative spirit, and conduct themselves with maturity and respect for others. The team has won 35 State Championships, more than any other high school athletic program in the State of Florida. Our athletes have gone on to compete at the most prestigious collegiate rowing programs, and recently added world rowing champions to our list of alumni. Our team is more than just strong bodies. In addition to being champions, the oarsmen, oarswomen, and coxswains of Winter Park Crew are consistently among the highest academically ranked student athletes at Winter Park High School. Most important of all, our rowers emerge from this program with the discipline, commitment and integrity to be successful in life.
