THE STORY:

A great opportunity has been offered to WisconsinEye Public Affairs Network. And now we need your help to seal the deal and meet a challenge grant by August 17!

Is access to state government important to you? Do you believe in transparency at the statehouse? Do you like to dig deep into state issues through WisconsinEye’s free programming?

WisconsinEye is an independent provider of unedited, unbiased content to Wisconsin residents who are interested in developing their awareness of how decision-making at a state level impacts their livelihood. The underpinning value of the organization is this: transparency in government leads to accountability.

WisconsinEye, through its unvarnished coverage of state government, provides that opportunity for transparency. The information is free and readily accessible via multiple access points (internet, cable television, mobile devices and social media), ensuring the content is available real-time as topics are discussed, votes are cast, and lives are impacted.

The privately-funded organization is grounded with a mission of bringing relevant information to the general Wisconsin population to help educate the community on the actions of state elected officials and government as it utilizes taxpayer dollars to create laws and policies that impact the life of every individual, family and state-wide community.

WisconsinEye brings raw, unedited interviews and event coverage to provide background context and analysis of the impact the actions of elected officials and supporters have on all sides of the issues. A wide variety of programming provides an approachable range of topics, experts and elected officials, offering an evaluation of current events in formats that meet the desired needs of a range of audience levels, regardless of the political disposition, level of education, or civic engagement,

WisconsinEye is committed to delivering information that will inspire residents to become more aware and to provide pathways and opportunities for engagement. The challenge that exists is to help build a stronger awareness of the value this resource provides the community – with financial supporters and ultimately with viewers. A well-educated community will have a better rate of engagement, better turnout at the polls for local elections, and will ultimately have a stronger impact on decisions that will affect business, personal income, family, and daily life.

WisconsinEye has been offered a challenge grant to provide the network the ability to promote and update our aging equipment and make a much needed transition to be more user-friendly and far reaching. WisconsinEye strives to be your go-to spot for all state government-related information: from campaign coverage to floor votes, from in-depth interviews to behind-the-scenes tours of factories… and everything in between. Their mission is to offer easy, informative access to your state officials and the issues that affect your life.
