Help Jax and I make another child's wish come true! Keep reading below!
Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children battling life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
When you support Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana, your gift will help grant the wishes of local children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions.
My son Jax had his wish granted last April when he, his twin brother Matt, older brother Jacob, myself(mom, Jennifer) as well as our long time nurse Jason and wife Kristin were able to go to Give Kids the World in Orlando Florida, and go to both Disney world and Universal Studios.
Money is tight in my house due to medical expenses and we had never been on a vacation as a family before. But this was no normal vacation. For one whole week, I didn't have to worry. ALL of our needs were thought of and planned for. The ENTIRE resort was wheelchair accessible- they even had volunteers that carried your tray while you pushed your child's wheelchair! We had a wheelchair van for the week- what a huge blessing! The boys got to meet Spiderman, and Jax got to meet his Princess, Queen Elsa from the movie Frozen. For one week I had no worries, AND I didn't have to be supermom. For one week my sons were answered with yes when asked if we could do extras- like go out to dinner, or have icecream, or get items to bring home(Did you know Olaf Mickey Mouse ears exist?!)
While alone I am unable to financially grant another child's wish, I know I have a village of people that love Jax that with a little here and a little there, we can grant another deserving child and family the same amazing experience we had.
While the name of this program is Women Inspiring Strength and Hope(WISH), It's not about me. My son inspires me every single day to be a better person and to care and advocate for those around me. He inspires me not to quit.
4 months after returning from our Wish trip, Jax began having seizures and autonomic storms and has been on a downward track since. I likely won't have another vacation with him. As a mom, I'm so grateful that Make a Wish not only granted my son's wish, but gave me memories I'll treasure forever.
