“I was thrilled to get the tote from my chemotherapy nurse, and when I called the number inside, I was able to ask questions that only another women who had experienced the disease could answer..... It was so comforting to talk to a woman who had survived ovarian can cancer…I was so scared!”
Free tote bags with all the necessities for chemotherapy...a thick soft white fleece blanket, small cooler for a snack, a nice tumbler to help keep hydrated, a few important and helpful products just for women with ovarian cancer...but most of all a message of Hope.
This important message of hope, is to let women know they are not alone, and that there are women standing by to encourage them, share their personal experience with ovarian cancer and to answer questions they may have about their disease.
Receiving this tote is imperative for women with ovarian cancer. It let's them know they are not alone and that there is an organization here to provide support, trusted information and networking opportunites, including professionally facilitated support groups.
“…attending your support group helped me feel less alone, it was wonderful to hear that other women were experiencing the same issues I was….everyone made me feel so comfortable, and I was able to take what I learned back to my doctor and ask better questions about my treatment.”
The Comfort & Hope tote program started in 2013 when we purchased our first 300 bags. We are now ready to order more, but will need your help. The bags cost approximently $65 each, yes that's just the tote and it's contents...our staff is fully volunteer that delivers the totes. Please help us continue this great and worthwile program a donation of $130 will ensure that 2 women newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer will receive a tote and more importantly Hope this year!
