BENEFITING: IT TAKES A VILLAGE AFRICA CORPORATION
Agriculture is the bloodline of a nation. It is Liberia's leading economic activity and livelihood of Liberians ,comparing of livestock /animal husbandry and cash crop industry.Prior to the civil crisis agriculture played a major role in the Liberian economy in sustaining farmers and their family needs.How will this project solve this problem?
The project will provide the most vulnerable groups including women, people with disabilities, the elderly, and widows with financial assistance, land, seeds, and administering equipment to produce their own food. Thus, they will secure their own food to enhance self-sufficiency. The farmers will to be trained on self-sufficient and build capacity by forming working groups, teaching marketing skills, keeping records of production, paying the rent, and evaluating their small-scale farm.
Potential Long Term Impact
By 2018, the first target group of 800 women and 800 men will gain capacity building skills, self-satisfaction, confidence, decision making, marketing, and gain full transformation and empowerment to become changing agents to transform the rest of the community.
