BENEFITING: Brothers and Sisters in Community Service
As many of you know, for the past several years Walt and I have been going to one of the poorest areas of Tijuana, Mexico to build homes for families in desperate need. This year, in a two week period our group of about 120 from 5 parishes in our surrounding area will build six houses, providing a basic, secure home for families. Many of them currently live in a one room structure with a dirt floor and a leaky roof. The houses we build are about 500 square feet with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. Typical cost for a house, including site prep, is $10,000. The volunteers pay for their travel, lodging and food, but we rely on donations to cover the construction material costs. We’d be most grateful for any donation you can make to help support our work. All donations are tax-deductible and you'll receive a receipt for filing with your tax return. Thanks!
