THE STORY:

"Women and Men are Equals" is a mission to address the inequality, injustice, and mistreatment of women and girls throughout the world by providing a universal logo/symbol that supports and encourages their struggles for freedom to speak, express and act on the personal choices in their lives. Over 50 years ago I traveled the world and the Middle East in particular. I was stunned by the patriarchal culture and abasement of women and girls. I had always envisioned that during my lifetime equality and justice would surely prevail as people and cultures learned to accept each other as equals. I have since learned that this hope for equality has not been achieved, not only in the Middle East but in most countries around the world. "Women and Men are Equals" has designed a 'universal' logo of equality which gives support and credence to the ambitions of women and girls throughout the world to be treated as an equals. Individuals, groups, and organizations that act on behalf of women's rights will be encouraged to display this logo as a symbol of support for women s equality issues. Much as a 'peace' symbol is understood throughout the world it is the vision of the "Women and Men are Equals" logo to be understood as a symbol for equality for women and girls throughout the world. The web domain, www.womenandmenareequals.org , has been reserved for this program. Donations are needed to fund the website, contact women's rights groups throughout the world, spread the visual and meaning of the universal logo, and by doing so promote and support women and girls in their endeavor to be treated as equals to men in all societies. Our Goal: “Women and Men Are equals” will promote equality through promotion and presentation of the logo. Women and girls groups around the world will be allowed, free of charge, to download the ‘logo’ from the website “www.womenandmenareequals.org “ for their own usage. They can use the logo for their own fundraising events, newsletters, podcasts, blogs, literature, promotional items, and in other ways to promote their cause. Over time, much like the peace symbol, the “Women and Men are Equals” logo/symbol will be viewed worldwide as a stand of equality for women and girls. It is hoped that women and girls in many countries will begin to wear the logo on their own apparel as a display of freedom and equality and a way of bonding with others as to their cause. The visual language is strong and can cut across various cultures similar to the power of music. With this symbol the message of equality can be delivered in one voice for all to hear. The website: Through the many generous Crowdrise contributors we will develop a www.womenandmenareequals.org website that will promote the program to women’s and girl’s groups in over 190 countries. Contacts and promotions will be made with these groups where they will be asked to use the logo and supporting materials free of charge for their causes. The website will also offer promotional products such as pins, bumper stickers, tee-shirts, etc. to help them in their programs. All activity of funding and sales will be open on the website for all to see. The goal is to have over 95% of all funding received by “Women and Men are Equals” be returned directly to the cause of promoting the logo/symbol. The emphasis of this cause is to promote usage of the logo/symbol. Thanks to contributors: To all those that donate to this cause there will be ‘thank yous’ of pins, bumper stickers, and tee-shirts. Be among the first to contribute, help change the world, see the results of your contributions as things develop. Be part of this great effort for equality. Show Less Share Tweet $0 MONEY RAISED
