EVENT DATE: Apr 01, 2018
During the weeks leading up to Mother's Day (May 13), Habitat for Humanity of Winchester-Frederick-Clarke will be raising funds to help offset the cost of construction on our 66th home. This home, christened our Women Build 2018 project, will breakground in June 2018 at 323 Highland Avenue in Winchester, VA. The future homeowner, Kaleah, is a single mother raising 4 daughters. Our goal with Women Build is to empower women to help families in our community build strength, stability and independence.
Through Women Build 2018, we plan to provide the opportunity for women to take proactive steps in serving our community by making them stronger and safer. Women and children make up the majority of people populating our Habitat homes, as they are most likely to be affected by local housing insecurity. Together we can create positive change in our neighborhoods as we build a two-story home for a family partner in need of a hand up, not a hand out. The project will break ground in June 2018 and will follow a 280-day build schedule, during which time, your participation will help spotlight the homeownership challenges face by women.
Women Build 2018 will be a rewarding experience for all involved. Help improve your community, one house at a time, by joining a team to raise funds for our Women Build project. Your donation will help a family create the foundation to build a brighter future while unifying to tackle the issue of housing insecurity in Winchester, Va.
Join a team and help raise funds through your social media network today; or donate directly. Volunteer opportunities will be available starting in June. Please check habitatwfc.org for upcoming events. Together, we're building stronger.
