We need you to help us make history! In July 2016, girls and women of African Descent will gather for an international movement to end HIV and AIDS in our lifetimes. It has been over 35 years since AIDS began its rampage through the lives of men, women and children around the world, hitting especially hard in African and Black communities. Yet, never before has there ever been an international conversation among young women and girls of African descent on HIV at the intersection of Sexual & Reproductive Health & Justice.
As a global community, we are so close to finding the right combination of solutions to stop the spread of HIV, yet we are so very far away, especially for young women and girls in poor communities in Sub-Saharan Africa and around the world. WomenNOW! will bring together girls and women affected by HIV/AIDS, advocates, researchers and caregivers to support the involvement and leadership of adolescent girls and young women - the very people whom we believe will shut down this thing called AIDS. Your support will go a long way to help scholarship a young African or Black girl or woman between the ages of 15-24, and women/girls living with HIV to participate in this historic gathering. The event will take place in Durban, South Africa - a country where more than 2,000 young women become HIV positive every week. Every Week! We must all help them help themselves to a safer, more secure and healthy life filled with the opportunities that we all dream of. Please make your generous donation to support 100 girls and young women with much-needed scholarships to participate in WomenNOW! For more information, visit our website at www.womenow2016.org.
