I will join the Women's March on Washington January 21, 2017. I'm marching in honor of all the women who make a difference in our country and in memory of my sister-in-law, Trish McMahon Sergi. We sadly lost Trish on August 14 at the age of 61. She was an amazing woman - a wife, a mom and a career educator of those with special needs. She made a difference in so many lives.
The dollars raised from this effort will be used to help create a scholarship in her memory for deserving Scecina Memorial H.S. students enrolled in their special needs program. Trish, her siblings and many of her cousins were graduates of Scecina. For the 2016-17 school year, Scecina will expand this program to serve more students with a pilot program known as CREST. Crusaders Reaching Educational and Social Goals Together (CREST) will broaden Scecina's services and academic offerings for students with autism. Students in the CREST program will receive the same quality education that all Scecina students receive, which will lead to their high school diploma in preparation for college and careers.
