The Women’s Refugee Commission works to improve the lives and protect the rights of refugee and internally displaced women, children and youth, including those seeking asylum. Women, children and youth make up 80 percent of the more than 85 million people who have been uprooted by conflict, persecution and natural disasters. Through research and fact-finding field missions, the Women’s Refugee Commission identifies critical problems affecting displaced women, children and youth, and proposes solutions and develops innovative tools to improve the way humanitarian assistance is delivered in refugee settings. Our goal is a world in which displaced people are safe, healthy and self-reliant.
