The Woodbourne Network Community has a long and proud history. Begun in 2002 with 6 men, the program now welcomes up to 50 men every Thursday night, all smart, decent guys with amazing educational and vocational accomplishments who are preparing themselves for release and rewarding, productive lives in their home communities. Here's what one Network member has said about the Network experience: Change requires patience, honesty and a willingness to work hard, to be committed--these are the traits that I've witnessed firsthand as a new member of Network. I have never seen nor experienced such a raw desire for growth and a profound sense of self-awareness than in my first weekly Network meeting. By my second meeting, I personally experienced emotions that have been hidden within me for several years. In the small group setting I not only cried, but I was blessed with the chance to share words of encouragement and be encouraged by my new brothers. These men, myself included, within the span of three hours, expressed feelings of remorse, claimed responsibility for their wrongs to both their victims and their loved ones and, above all, expressed a strong need to rehabilitate themselves and work in those areas that led them inside these walls.
