Every Saturday morning starting in April, a group of dedicated team members get together for one purpose - train for either the Detroit Half or Full Marathon to raise money and awareness for an Orphanage in Thailand.
The main reason why I run is to protect Orphans in Thailand. Thousands of poor Akha refugees inhabit northern Thailand, having fled civil wars in neighboring countries. Young and defenseless Akha boys and girls are targets of the Southeast Asian sex trade. Team Woodside partnered with trusted Christian Akha leaders to protect kids from abduction and sex trafficking. The Akha House of Light Orphanage was built to provide shelter and education for the Akha children. Learn more about the orphanage and these cool kids.
On October 16, 2016, I will be part of the Detroit Marathon to raise funds to protect kids in Thailand. This will be the 3rd year that I will be running in this event, my 1st for the Full Marathon. Together with other Team Woodside members, I am raising money to help support an orphanage. Your tax deductible donation, be it $10 or $1,000, will accomplish this goal. I have committed to raising $1,000. Your support and prayers are need which will allow me to reach my goal.
Making a donation is easy. Just click the donate button and follow the prompts. Thanks very much for making a donation to protect the kids in Thailand.
