BENEFITING: Reaching Out Inc
Since 1991, Word for the World, led by Augustine Asir and family, has sought to bring the gospel and discipleship to the socially neglected people groups in India, including slum and village dwellers, the physically challenged, leprosy patients, and marginalized women and children. They do so through a powerful model of raising up and training local believers to become missionaries in their home communities through street evangelism, home visits, medical camps, education, and church plants. In the 23 years of it's existence, Word for the World has never owned it's own building. This has posed both financial and logistical challenges (including the high cost of renting office space in Chennai and the lack of a permanent postal address). In recent years, the Lord has placed it on the hearts of the ministry leaders, to purchase land and build a training center and office. This building will allow Word for the World to accomplish it's mission and vision in new and exciting ways:
Serve as a Training Center for pastors and missionaries, and a Retreat Center for the 223 Missionaries (and counting!) that work for World for the World in 17 different Indian states.
Exist as a permanent office space for the Headquarters located in Chennai
Provide housing for missionaries from the northern states when they come for meetings, training, and retreat, and lodging for frequent visitors from other countries.
The land has already been purchased, and 1/3 of the cost has been raised, but we have a long way to go. We are seeking to raise $25,000 more of the cost through this fundraising page.
