Working to Realize My Artist Husband's Dream!!
Organized by: jamie chang
My husband Jeff and I moved from Washington State to Las Vegas in 2013 to assist his father following major back surgery and, ironically, to get OUT of the casino business. We sold almost everything we owned, including our car, to fund the move and relocated to a bedroom in his parents' home. After a few months and the growth of a small mountain of debt, I got a surveillance job and Jeff worked out of the house selling garage sale finds on Ebay. It's a way to make ends meet but not to carve out a life as a married couple. Jeff is an amazing artist (see photos, and by the way I am behind the makeup) and, in the 13 years I've known him, has never wavered in his desire to be more than a blackjack dealer. He told me without a doubt that one day he would be involved in film and that he wanted to work in makeup effects. We were fortunate enough to find L Makeup Institute here in Vegas, where he is excelling in his curriculum as a makeup effects artist. We are financing his tuition so far but as he goes forward we know there will be more expenses for additional classes and materials. We have lived with his parents for over two years now and need our own space, but my single income is not enough to provide for independence after all the monthly bills are paid. I know with every fiber of my being that Jeff is going to be a great success... the photos don't lie. I am just hoping for some support to help ease the path along the way. The donations we receive will help reduce our debt, allow us to more comfortably advance his education and get us steps closer to a home of our own. Thank you so much for your interest and support!!
