BENEFITING: Kailua Church of the Nazarene
EVENT DATE: Aug 01, 2014
TO MASUSA, PERU FROM KAILUA, HAWAII WITH 'ALOHA"! That is our theme as the Kailua Church of the Nazarene takes a team of 14 volunteer missionaries to travel to the city of Iquitos, Peru for 2 weeks this August. Our primary mission is to share God's love with the wonderful people of Peru while we help with the construction of a Church Parsonage (Pastor's Home) for the Masusa Church of the Nazarene. The Masusa Church is located in one of the ghetto areas of Iquitos.
The Kailua Nazarene Church is raising funds to provide for the cost of the construction and our team of workers will be working on the new parsonage by day and holding worship services and Children's ministry in the evenings.
The cost per person for the two weeks, from August 1st - 15th will be $3000. for airfare, food and lodging. The trip will conclude a 3 day 'sight-seeing' tour to the famed Pachu Pechu Ruins.
Your mission, if you choose to assist us, is to help our team to raise the necessary funds to be part of this life changing experience. Your donation will be much appreciated!
Our volunteers range from age 15 through 85. Several have retired and are on fixed income. One is a US Marine, several others are home-makers and grandmas. For each member, their commitment to be part of this trip represents a "step of faith" and a true desire to serve the Lord and give their testimony!
We are returning to the Masusa Church because last Summer on a similar mission to Peru we had met the Pastor and had worked on the newly constructed Church in Masusa. We saw the need that existed to build a parsonage so that Pastor Roni could live in the community where he pastors.
Long time Peruvian missionaries, Larry & Addie Garman willbe hosting our trip and serving as our primary translators and guides.
