BENEFITING: Generation Ubuntu
EVENT DATE: Dec 01, 2013
I am sure you have heard the word Ubuntu but do you know what it means? It means "I exist because you exist, I am because you are, because we all are", it teaches us all that human kindness to one another is at the very core of our own humanity.
Ubuntu Africa is a nonprofit organization working exactly under this framework of mind. Providing nutrition, health and counselling services to children that are HIV positive in South Africa. They also surround them with a lot of care and love, feelings that have been deprived of their entire lives. The majority of those children not only suffer but they suffer alone, with no one to turn to. Most of the times they don't reveal their HIV status out of fear of being mocked or alienated.
I have committed to becoming a Do Ubuntu Ambassador for their World AIDS Day Campaign to raise awareness and much needed funds for Ubuntu Africa leading up to World AIDS Day this December 1st...and I need your help to reach my goal of $1,000.
Now...we are all parents or aunts and uncles and I know for sure that this isn't the future we would like for our own children. We should all live the principle of Ubuntu and treat the children in South Africa as our children too and they need our help to have a real chance at living long, happy and meaningful lives. You can spare your next coffee, drink or pack of cigarettes and instead donate that money to Ubuntu, even $10 will make a huge difference for them.
So, I ask you to donate what you can so we can change and save the lives of the beautiful children who need it most. Not only because we can, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because of Ubuntu - because it makes us human to care for each other....DO UBUNTU!
