Healthcare Within Walkable Distance
Over 70% of people in India and East Africa live in rural, medically-underserved communities. Too often, in these communities, children and women die from illnesses that can be prevented with basic healthcare. World Health Partners (WHP) works to change that.
We build healthcare solutions for communities in the ‘here and now’ by identifying the places where people are seeking care and then working with those healthcare providers to improve the quality of the services available.
We save children’s lives by:
Giving the local healthcare providers the ability to treat diarrhea and pneumonia correctly.
We prevent women from dying in childbirth by enabling them to choose when to get pregnant by:
Offering safe, long-lasting family planning services within walking distance of a woman’s home.
YOU can help these communities get basic, needed healthcare services within a walkable distance from home.
- With a $100 donation, you can save the lives of 16 children who might otherwise die from pneumonia or diarrhea.
- With a $1000 donation, you can protect nearly 70 women in India for years with safe, long-lasting family planning services.
Founded in 2008, WHP built a rural healthcare network in India that currently has over 6,000 community-based healthcare providers. In 2014, WHP launched a rural healthcare network in western Kenya. Today, the Kenya network includes 14 clinics and 78 mobile community providers and will expand rapidly over the next year.
