BENEFITING: PROVIDENCE ZEN CENTER
We are all energetically connected. There are different parts of our environment that nourish this connection more strongly. Being in nature, sitting a meditation retreat and serving others are just a few examples. The World Peace Pagoda’s job is to both inspire and energetically support our universal connection.
The pagoda must have a new roof before winter. The aging wooden roof tiles are falling off. Only if the remaining $24,000 is raised by can construction slated for October 1 begin.
Support this space where people come to pursue world peace as Zen Master Seung Sahn advised: “Try, try, try for 10,000 years non-stop."
The Pagoda was constructed in 1992 to ask: "What if world peace is not just between people? What is world peace for an owl? A hummingbird?" The World Peace Pagoda was built in 1992 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Kwan Um School of Zen. It is located at the Providence Zen Center, the Head Temple of the Kwan Um School of Zen.
