World Sight is a non-profit organization working to establish eye care clinics that provide routine eye care and corrective surgeries to citizens of developing countries around the world, at no cost to patients.
World Sight is a community centered grassroots organization that works with community leaders and local physicians to establish sustainable eye care clinics that will help restore sight to individuals.
Currently we have clinics in Ghana, Pakistan, Madagascar and Iraq. We are hoping to expand to Ethiopia. The funds raised through this fundraiser would go to the treatment of patients in Ghana, Pakistan, Iraq and Ethiopia. All money goes DIRECTLY to the people on the ground! Restoring vision to one person costs $20 - with the funds raised we hope to restore the vision of 750 people across the globe!
There is a huge need for these services in communities around the globe. Unlike many people who live in the United States or other developed nations, people in developing countries rely on the work of the head of the family unit to provide for them and the extended community of the family. In non-Western countries, it is not uncommon for as many as twenty or more people to depend on one person to not only be the head of the family, but to also do the work that provides for the family unit. When that is not possible because of sight-related issues, the entire family unit suffers.
Please join us in our mission to change people’s lives by correcting their vision, so that they can work, play, and provide for their families and communities.
