Would like to go to college but money is a problem, help?
Organized by: Cristian Ruiz
My name is Cristian Elias Llamas-Ruiz I am 17 years old and will be graduating in 2017. I go to a small high school called Lake Roosevelt, I consider myself a good student, I maintain a's and b's. I am very musically talented and would hope that goes into my future as well, I have been playing trumpet for 8 years; I have been invited to various concerts and events, I've been asked to play at fairs and to play taps for Veterans Day at memorials. I give back to the community by doing so. I would like to pursue for a bachelors degree in accounting at the University of Washington but the only problem with that would be money. My family is quite poor, we are living off of welfare and food stamps because my mother is disabled and my grandparents are retired. I've been working for almost a year and im just not going to make enough money to be what I want to be. I would like to make my family proud, I would be a first generation college graduate if i do make it. My family of 5 in my household makes about 20,000 a year, which is pretty little considering we all do sports and have extracurricular activities. I would really appreciate if you donated, anything little is fine with me. Please help me make my family proud and make my future possible, thank you.
