BENEFITING: Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation, Inc
The WWIA is proud to partner wtih DoubleCreek to offer 600 acres of prime hunting opportunities exclusively for our combat-wounded, Purple Heart recipients. Located 2 hours southwest of Nashville TN, DoubleCreek is a log home property set in the woods surrounded by hundreds of acres of bountiful wildlife. Two excellent whitetail deer hunting opportunities in the fall and a turkey hunt in the spring are being hosted by an avid hunter/outdoorsman and his wife who feel privileged to offer these opportunities. Homecooked meals, lodging, licenses and transportation are all included for each participant.
After the 2017 Tennessee Turkey Hunt in the spring, a Purple Heart recipeint shared the following:
"My wife read about your organization and made contact. I’ve wanted to go on a hunt for a long time, but living in NJ, it wasn’t an option. The hunt was great, the Purple Heart veterans I met were like brothers. Derek, our Guide, was very informative, and being a Purple Heart veteran also made it easy to talk with and be around him. Shelley and Dennis made us feel right at home. Dr. Cato, Jim and Joel made it an experience I won’t forget. Thank you so much for everything." -R. Farley
During the Tennessee Whitetail Deer Hunts last year, Purple Heart recipients shared the following about their experiences:
"God does work in mysterious ways. Shelley, Dennis, Joel, Jason, Nicole, and Derek were absolutely amazing. This event changed me. I was able to grasp onto something I loved doing as a kid. I felt at peace. I was able to be myself. The hosts are true American patriots and the love they show for strangers is doing God’s work. Thank you WWIA! Look forward to more hunts." -D. Veros
"I really enjoyed the opportunity and fellowship throughout the trip. This is an awesome program and something I will always cherish. Please pass on my appreciation to all involved and if there is any way I can ever help out, please do not hesitate to ask." -E. Bankston
Please help support these events and the WWIA mission to serve our Nation's combat wounded Purple Heart recipients by providing world-class outdoor sporting activities as a means to recognize and honor their sacrifice, encourage independence and connections with communities, and promote healing and wellness through camaraderie and a shared passion for the outdoors.
