BENEFITING: WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
Every so often I try to combine participating in something mildly silly (moustache-growing, marathon racing, toughmuddering etc.) with raising money for a good cause. This year is no exception except I've upped the ante on the sillyness front.
The event - GoRuck begins at 1am at a yet-to-be-disclosed location in NYC. It involves carrying 6 bricks at all times and a good deal else (team weight, team members and possibly a tree) throughout the following 10 hours or so. If you are curious, check out the FAQ at https://www.goruck.com/FAQ#an_gr_challenge
The charity - whatever your thoughts on the military interventions that begat these terrible injuries, one thing for sure is that no-one deserves to live a life of pain, being marginalized and without dignity. Wounded Warriors Project serves veterans, with physical or mental injuries, who've served the US in action since 9/11.
