BENEFITING: Wny Wreckers
EVENT DATE: Oct 03, 2015
THE STORY:
Wheelchair rugby is an amazing and intense sport. The Wreckers were formed in 2013. In 2015, we're hosting our first tournament.
Originally known as “Murderball” because of the intensity of contact, it is still the only full-contact wheelchair sport in the world. With four players from each team on the court at one time, the action is fast and the collisions are loud as players slam modified, armored wheelchairs into one another to advance the ball across the goal line to score.
Help make this team, and this tournament, a success by donating. Please consider donating at the following levels to be recognized on our website and in the program for the tournament:
Team Player - $500
Biggest Fans - $250
Groupies - $100
Wrecking Crew - $25
Any amount is appreciated. Our costs for the tournament include food for players and volunteers, referee time and travel expenses, equipment and supplies. Our year round costs include wheelchair repairs, athletic supplies, registration in other tournaments, travel and hotel costs.
