THE STORY:

WANDERERS REST HUMANE ASSOCIATION INC wrote -

Wanderers' Rest Humane Association is the sole open admissions dog and cat shelter in Madison County which is dedicated to providing the highest quality care and compassion for the animals entrusted to us, striving to enhance adoptability, and re-homing adoptable animals at the highest rate possible, while educating and leading our community in creating a more humane society.

How does your donation help?

Spay and Neuter - WRHA provides a low cost spay/neuter assistance program for income eligible families in the Central New York area. This incredibly important program prevents overpopulation, reduces euthanasia, and helps owners keep their beloved pet in their home reducing the number of intakes.

Medical Needs - Almost all of our furry residents require vaccinations when they are surrendered or brought in by Animal Control. Many cats and dogs will require antibiotics or supportive care while others may even require surgery (see Maya's video). Flea treatment, antibiotics, diagnostics, surgery, and nursing care are difficult to afford.

Enrichment - We want our cats and dogs to be mentally and physically enriched during the day. Enrichment keeps stress at bay and gives them a better chance of being adopted!
