Wrigley Wayne's Recovery Fund
Organized by: Riss Mariano
Our dear Wrigley Wayne Mathew (#wrigleywayne) was in an unfortunate accident on Saturday, April 16 which resulted in him needing medical care and ultimately emergency back/spinal surgery. He is currently recovering at a local pet hospital where he will be in the ICU and under observation until the doctors can determine the extent of the damage to his nervous system. Once he is home, it may take weeks to months for full recovery. We are hopeful that he will regain sensation in his back legs and will be back to his sprightly self once again.
For those of you who have been blessed to know this little one, have all been met with his enthusiasm for both two-legged and four-legged friends, infectious shih tzu grin, and non-stop propeller tail. He has brought so much joy to students and staff at NYU, family and friends, and countless canine and community members. He is truly a reflection of his loving mother, Briana Mathew (who will probably be upset that we even created this on her behalf because of her selfless nature).
We hope that you will be able to donate any amount that can help offset the mounting costs of his medical care and anticipated recovery needs. As the medical costs become finalized, any additional funds raised beyond medical expenses will be donated to ASPCA. We will provide updates through the next few weeks.
