BENEFITING: Women Survivors Alliance
EVENT DATE: Jun 07, 2015
Cancer doesn't end when treatment does and it draws a definitive line in the sand of life. Hearing the words, “You have cancer,” changes a person, and those they love, forever. It has certainly changed mine.
Several years ago, I had an idea. This crazy idea is now the Women Survivors Alliance, a 501c3 organization that helps women of all stage and all ages take their life back after cancer. In 2013, the WSA launched with a convention held in Nashville now appropriately called “SURVIVORville.” Now in its third year, I have watched lives changed for so many women who have attended the three-day event. The volunteers of the WSA work tirelessly to bring together women survivors of ALL ages, ALL stages and ALL cancers and to provide them with educational opportunities to help them re-enter their life after a cancer diagnosis. We give them opportunities to share and learn from each other and from experts.
This year on June 7, 2015 at 9:00am (and on National Cancer Survivors Day), the Women Survivors Alliance Celebrate Survivors 5K is taking on the streets of downtown Nashville and I am incredibly excited. I love this town, but more than that, I love what this walk represents. This year has been especially tough for me, so I have made up my mind I am going to join the crowd and after two years of talking the talk, I am going to walk the walk. But, I need a team. I am humbly asking if you would join me on the Women Survivors Alliance “Team PURPLE” and take these very important steps with me this year. My goal is $3500 to the WSA and all monies will go to support the survivors attending SURVIVORville. I want to not just meet, but exceed that goal.
Friends, this is my heart. Survivorship issues are so difficult and treatment is so hard on all involved. 100% of the money you give to be on this team will go toward the survivor scholarships of SURVIVORville. Would you please join my team and donate today? Maybe you would you also help by gathering your own friends and family to join “Team PURPLE” and meet me at the starting line at Public Square Park on the most important day of this year – National Cancer Survivors Day. I promise it will change your life. The WSA is an all-volunteer organization and so many give so much to help these beautiful survivors. Cancer might have drawn a line in the sand of their lives, but with your help, SURVIVORville will give redefined lives new meaning.
Please join my team, give a survivor hope, and come walk/run with me. Thank you!
